Both workshops are from 11:00am – 1:30pm.

MLK Day: Middle School- Bridging the Gap

“Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality.” ~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Bridge Builders calls on Mid-South middle school youth to spend a Day On Bridging the Gap between leadership and community. In today’s everyday life, leading change in communities can seem overwhelming. Explore your own personal style of leadership and how to harness your leadership into powerful action.

MLK Day: High School- Beloved Community

“Our goal is to create a beloved community and this will require a qualitative change in our souls as well as a quantitative change in our lives.”~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Bridge Builders calls on Mid-South high school youth to immerse themselves in discovering Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Beloved Community – communities working together to fight against poverty, racism and homelessness. Youth will work together to understand what it means to be civically engaged in today’s virtual world and explore different actions to drive forth social change.
