Bridge Builders will develop unique connections with each other through communication and team building activities.

 

ELECTIVE opportunities:

7th-12th Journalism in Pursuit of Justice Elective at Blount Auditorium, Rhodes College (2000 North Parkway, 38112)

Wendi Thomas will discuss the history of Memphis journalism and its impact on social justice issues. 40 spots available.

Tuesday, October 9th 9:00am-3:30pm

7th-8th Memphis Kids in Nature Elective at BRIDGES &T. O. Fuller Park (477 N Fifth St., 38105)

Students will visit T.O. Fuller State Park where they will take part in a nature walk and learn about the different wildlife who live in the park. Students will need to be at BRIDGES on time. Students will be bused to the park and back to BRIDGES. 20 spots available.

7th-12th Cloud901 Robotics Elective at Benjamin L Hooks Central Library (3030 Poplar Ave., 38111)

Students will have the opportunity to work with Arduino circuit boards and learn more about robotics opportunities at Cloud901. 20 spots available.

7th-12th Cloud901 Intro to Beat Making Workshop Elective at Benjamin L Hooks Central Library (3030 Poplar Ave., 38111)

Students will learn how to make beats using Logic Pro X. 20 spots available.

9th-12th School to Prison Pipeline Discussion Elective at University of Memphis in the University Center (499 University St., 38111)

Students will discuss potential ways to break the school to prison pipeline. 20 spots available.

Students will participate in a dual mentorship program where youth mentor seniors on technology and seniors mentor youth on life experiences.  25 spots available.

7th-12th Alley Clean Up at area near Crosstown (1098 Forrest Ave., 38109)

Bridge Builders will work with neighborhood residents to clean up alleys between Forrest St and North Parkway. 30 spots available.

Saturday, October 27th 11:30am – 1:30pm

7th-12th Halal Food Pantry at Masjid Al-Mu’minun (4412 S.3rd St., 38109)

Bridge Builders will assist in Masjid Al-Mu’minun’s monthly food pantry and clothes distribution. 10 spots available.
