7th-12th Diversity in Music Elective at BRIDGES (477 N. 5th St., 38105)

Live performance by two up-and-coming classical string players followed by a discussion on what it’s like to be pioneers toward diversity in a field with historic under-representation. IRIS Artist Fellows will share their musical talents and personal experiences as they work to launch careers in classical music and advocate for social equity through music. 20 spots available.

Memphis youth from the Refugee Empowerment Program will share powerful stories of what home means to them. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend. 40 spots available.

Calling all poets, singers, musicians, comedians, and actors! Take advantage of this open mic opportunity to share your talents with the youth of Memphis and enjoy music from the student house band as well. 25 spots available.

10th-12th Out Memphis Community Action at BRIDGES (477 N. 5th St., 38105)

OUT Memphis will lead a workshop that will educate students about barriers faced by LGBTQ youth. Students will discuss stereotypes about LGBTQ youth and learn how to have conversations about safe sex. 20 spots available.

Youth will present their ideas to an audience of Memphis youth, community leaders, and key stakeholders on how they can help create real change in the Greater Memphis community. This event is open to the public, so bring a friend! 150 spots available.
