7th-9th Stem4Fem Elective – FEMALE STUDENTS ONLY at BRIDGES (477 N. 5th St., 38104)

Join STEM4fem for an exciting workshop where you will complete fun STEM challenges with new people and learn about how STEM can be used to benefit the community. You will also meet and interact with STEM professionals to gain more insight into different careers and opportunities. 30 spots available.

Join Facing History & Ourselves for a film screening and discussion around constitutional rights. 25 spots available.

Students will get hands-on experience using Green Screen Techniques in video making. 15 spots available.

9th-12th Sports, Social Justice, & Dr King Roundtable Elective at Clayborn Temple (294 Hernando St., 38127)

Join the Memphis Grizzlies and RISE Academy for a discussion around the intersection of sports and social justice. Participants will be challenged to identify how they can drive change in their communities by tapping into their own power/influence. 30 spots available.

Join Facing History & Ourselves for a film screening and discussion about Memphis’ and Tennessee’s legacies of racism. 25 spots available.

7th-12th Intergenerational Ropes Course Elective at BRIDGES (477 N. 5th St., 38105)

Students and parents/guardians are invited to try out our indoor challenge course together. Closed-toe shoes are REQUIRED, and please wear comfortable clothing. Students and parents/guardians must attend together. 20 student spots and 20 parent/guardian spots available.

7th-12th On My Own Financial Stability Elective at BRIDGES (477 N. 5th St., 38105)

Partnering with UT Extension, you will experience a real world situation and then apply this experience to your own lives. This event will be facilitated by the Bridge Builders Leadership Council. 100 spots available.

9th-12th Interfaith Community Action with India Cultural Center & Temple (12005 US-64, 38028)

Bridge Builders and the Indian Youth Association will learn about Hinduism and work together to complete a service project for ICCT. 20 spots available.

Monday, January 21st 8:15am-11:00am

7th-12th MLK Day Community Action – Shift 1 at BRIDGES (477 N. 5th St., 38105) *Bridge Builders will provide buses pickup from BRIDGES and drop off at Tires in Trails off Lamar and return to BRIDGES.

Bridge Builders will work with Memphis City Beautiful to clean up tires and trash in Tires in Trails off Lamar to prepare for building the world’s longest recycled tire trail. Closed-toe shoes and warm clothing are REQUIRED. Please bring a refillable water bottle. 100 spots available.

10th-12th Advocating for Sexual Health Education Community Action at 600 Jefferson Ave., 38105

Experiencing a new comprehensive sexual health education by LeBonheur specifically their interactive lesson on dating violence and gender and sexuality modules led by Residents. Bridge Builders must have parent consent forms signed in order to attend. 25 spots available.

9th-12th Survivor Power Coffee Hour Community Action at BRIDGES  (477 N. 5th St., 38105)

Hosted by the Memphis Against Sexual Harassment and Assault cohort, this event intends to be a safe space for survivors and to raise youth awareness of sexual violence. 30 spots available.

7th-12th Youth Ignite Community Action & Elective at BRIDGES (477 N. 5th St., 38105)

Youth Ignite Memphis is a youth led event. Youth from all over the city present their ideas to an audience of 200-300 Memphis youth, community leaders and key stakeholders on how they can help create real change in the Greater Memphis community.  Community organizations will have booths setup for first portion. Then students will listen to youth pitches from youth to help decide who will receive funding. 150 spots available.
